In an effort to bridge cultural divides, create a greater understanding among communities and promote multiculturalism, the NALIS will host each year a celebration of Latin culture, arts, folklore, films and cuisine.

Latin Nights - A Celebration of Latin Culture

Latin Nights is one of NALIS’ signature events hosted in collaboration with several Latin countries through their embassies in Trinidad and Tobago. This free programme is intended to provide persons with insight into the culture, arts, folklore, films and cuisine of participating counties as well as create a renewed interest in the learning of Spanish as a foreign language.

Latin Nights once again captivated audiences with its fifth edition of the much anticipated cultural festival, held from October 1st to 13th, 2025, at the National Library, Abercromby Street, Port of Spain.

Latin Nights brought together vibrant displays of music, dance, film, art, and history from eleven participating countries; Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Spain, and Venezuela. The festival continued its mission of fostering cultural exchange and deepening understanding between Latin-Ibero American nations and the people of Trinidad and Tobago.

In addition to the nightly cultural presentations, visitors explored the Latin Night’s Exhibition, an ongoing feature of the programme, which displays artefacts and cultural treasures from each featured country.

Latin Nights 4 was held from October 9 to October 19, 2024 at the National Library of Trinidad and Tobago.

Each night of the festival highlighted one of the participating countries. This year’s edition brought together Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Spain, and Venezuela through captivating showcases of music, dance, film, and cuisine.

Latin Nights return for its third instalment! From June 12 to 23, 2023, the National Library of Trinidad and Tobago was transformed into a lively hub of Latin American and Spanish culture. This year’s programme brought together the traditions of Argentina, Chile, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Spain, and Venezuela.

In addition to the nightly festivities, a Latin Night's Exhibition was unveiled in the Rotunda of the National Library, featuring artefacts that highlight the history, artistry, and everyday life of the nine participating nations.

Dubbed “Latin Nights 2,” the 2018 edition of the programme will be held from June 11 to 16 at the National Library in Port of Spain. Participating countries include Brazil, Dominican Republic, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, Peru and Spain.

Held from June 27 to July 03 at the National Library in Port of Spain, Latin Nights, a celebration of Latin American culture, arts, film and cuisine showcased various aspects of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Costa Rica and El Salvador.
