Asian Nights
In an effort to bridge cultural divides, create a greater understanding among communities and promote multiculturalism, NALIS will host each year a celebration of Asian cultures, arts, folklore, films and cuisine.

A Celebration of Asian Arts, Culture and Cuisine
Asian Nights is one of NALIS’ signature events, presented in collaboration with the Embassies and High Commissions of various Asian countries in Trinidad and Tobago. This free programme offers an immersive experience, providing visitors with a rich insight into the culture, arts, folklore, films, and cuisine of the participating nations.
Asian Nights 2 was held from May 14 to 16, 2025, at the National Library of Trinidad and Tobago. Over the three evenings, the festival celebrated the traditions, art forms and cuisines of Japan, India and China, with each night dedicated to showcasing the distinctive cultural expressions of the participating country.
Patrons experienced captivating performances, cultural presentations and immersive showcases designed to engage the entire family. In addition to the nightly programmes, a special exhibition was on display in the Rotunda from May 14 to May 31, 2025. The exhibition featured artefacts and memorabilia reflecting the histories and heritage of the participating countries, while promoting cross-cultural understanding and a deeper appreciation for Asia’s diverse legacy.
The inaugural Asian Nights took place from April 17 to 19, 2024, at the National Library of Trinidad and Tobago.
Each night of the festival highlighted one of the participating countries. This first edition brought together India, Japan, and Korea through captivating showcases of music, dance, film, and cultural traditions.
In addition to the nightly presentations, visitors explored the Asian Nights Exhibition, which ran from April 17 to 30 and featured artefacts and memorabilia from the participating countries.
