The National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) currently has four exhibitions mounted in the main exhibit spaces on the ground floor as well as in the Heritage Library of the National Library in Port of Spain.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Little Carib Theatre. In commemoration of this milestone, the theatre has mounted the exhibition, “The Little Carib Theatre at 75: A Short Trip Through the Decades” at the Rotunda, National Library of Trinidad and Tobago.

Launched on March 08, in collaboration with NALIS and sponsored by the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago, the exhibition chronologically showcases the theatre’s history from the 1940’s to present day. It also highlights the founder of the theatre and dance icon, Beryl McBurnie’s life and legacy. The public is invited to share memories of Beryl or visits to the Little Carib Theatre in the Big Book of Beryl situated at the centre of the exhibition.

Displayed in the News Media Room at the National Library is James Solomon’s exhibition, “3 of 30 – My Evolving Journey.” Launched on March 03, this exhibition features 30 years of photographic works from Solomon’s adventures and creativity.

Solomon, a full time professional photographer since 1992, has over 30 years’ experience and knowledge in photography.

The public can also visit the Heritage Library, 2nd Floor, National Library and view its Carnival Musical Icons exhibition which feature Garfield Blackman, Aldwyn Roberts and Sundarlal Popo as well as its Phagwa exhibition.

The exhibitions are open to the public, Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 6:00pm and Saturdays from 9:00am to 2:00pm. The exhibitions will run until March 18 with the exception of the Carnival Musical Icons exhibition, which will run until March 17.
