NALIS Calls on Artistes, Politicians to Preserve their Collections
February 21, 2025
Last month, the Friends of Carnegie Free Library presented four new desktop computers to NALIS’ San Fernando West Indian Reference Library (SWIRL), located at Harris Promenade San Fernando. At the presentation, members of the group said that the donation is intended to help promote digital equity, allowing more individuals to have access to the internet and NALIS’ online services.
The Friends, a voluntary group established in 1994, consists of dedicated individuals who generously contribute their time, resources, and influence to support and promote library services. Over the years, the Friends Group engaged in advocacy and various activities including holding barbecues and other fundraising events. Previous donations from the group included water coolers for patrons, newspaper racks, desktop computers, a laptop with multimedia equipment, books for both adults and children, educational posters, and many other items.
