The Lloyd Best Institute of the West Indies (LBIWI) in collaboration with the National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) launched the exhibition, Back To Best: 10 Years Into the Future at the National Library of Trinidad and Tobago, Port of Spain on Friday March 17, 2017. The launch of this exhibition marked the commencement of events hosted by the Institute to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the death of Lloyd Best.

The exhibition, which will run from March 17 - 24, showcases artefacts, personal items, photos, manuscripts, awards and books written by the late Lloyd Best, economist, political theorist, author and newspaper columnist.

Sunity Maharaj-Best, Director of the Lloyd Best Institute of the West Indies spoke about the depth and volume of her late husband’s work which she said seems to multiply whilst she sleeps, as new materials are discovered almost every day.

Also delivering remarks at the launch was Grace Achoy, Deputy Executive Director (Ag.) of NALIS who said, “We trust that this exhibition and the various activities which will take place over the next few days to celebrate the life and work of Lloyd Best would inspire the younger generation in particular to climb outside their comfort zones and to think outside the preverbal boxes towards the development of a society that is first class and first world.”   Other speakers for the evening included Professor Kari Polyani-Levitt of McGill University, Montreal and Winston Riley, Chairman of the Lloyd Best Institute of the West Indies.
