On March 25, Her Excellency Bengü Yiğitgüden, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey, presented a collection of 14 books about Turkey to NALIS. Accepting the books on NALIS’ behalf was Paula Greene, the Authority’s Executive Director (Ag.).

Written in English, the books provide information about Turkey’s landscape, cuisine, history, culture, tourism and the arts. This was the second meeting of Her Excellency and NALIS’ Executive Director (ED), they having met in February when the ambassador paid a courtesy visit to the ED (Ag.) at which time they discussed possible areas for collaboration between NALIS and the embassy, and the twinning of national libraries given their mutual interest in the promotion of literature, cultures, information and the sharing of knowledge.
