The magnificent National Library of Trinidad and Tobago, situated in downtown Port of Spain offers a number of breathtaking spaces for seminars, lectures, meetings, receptions, workshops, plays and much more.


The following Event Spaces are available:

  • Audio Visual Room and Amphitheatre
  • Seminar Rooms
  • Rotunda

Rental Fees are available upon request. Rental fees include:

  • Chairs (with the exception of the Amphitheatre)
  • Tables
  • Lectern

Space rental, group and school tours to the National Library of Trinidad and Tobago are organised through the Public Relations and Marketing Department.

Note: Appointments are necessary to view the facilities.

AUDIO VISUAL ROOM

Audio Visual Room

 

Located at the basement level of the National Library of Trinidad andTobago, this space provides a cozy setting for lectures, book talks, book launches,film shows, literary evenings, debates, presentations and much more.

THE FOYER OF THE AUDIO VISUAL ROOM

Foyer

Fitted with fixed modern cinema chairs, a stage and soft lighting, it has been the preferred choice of many local and foreign authors and artistes, and government and corporate bodies. Use of the adjoining foyer for receptions is included with the booking of this facility.

AMPHITHEATRE

Amphitheatre of the National Library Building

 

This outdoor facility can be accessed from the Abercromby and Hart Street entrances.Whether under the blue skies or stars, this open space is beautiful for readings, plays, cultural performances, talent shows, launches and more. It is fitted with a stage, adjoining dressing rooms and washroom facilities.

FIRST FLOOR SEMINAR ROOM

First Floor Seminar Room

With built in multimedia projector and screen, this room is ideal for meetings, training sessions, workshops, press conferences and lectures. It can be transformed into a great space for a cocktail reception, partly under the skies, when its sliding glass doors are opened, revealing an extended balcony.

U-shape or classroom style: 25


SECOND FLOOR SEMINAR ROOM

This room is also equipped with multimedia projector and screen. It has been used for workshops, training sessions, intimate gatherings, meetings, press conferences, scrabble and chess tournaments and book club meetings.

THIRD FLOOR SEMINAR ROOM

This computer training facility is equipped with 12 computers, each loaded with Windows XP and Internet Explorer. It also has a built in multimedia projector and screen.

ROTUNDA

Rotunda of the National Library Building

The Rotunda lies beneath the spiralling cylindrical skylight that reaches seven storeys above the ground. It has been home to many exhibitions in recognition of Trinidad and Tobago’s festivals and celebrations. It also housed the British Council’s travelling Magic Pencil Exhibition, the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Exhibition, the Age of Modernity Exhibition, and the Desperadoes Steel Orchestra Exhibition, just to name a few. This space also lends itself to small receptions and cocktail events.

Note: Since this is a public space, events held here cannot begin until one hour after the library closes.
