These recommended free e-resources are specifically aligned with the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) curriculum framework as suggested in the CSEC Electronic Document Preparation and Management (EDPM) Syllabus. The syllabus generally aims to:

• Develop an understanding of the importance of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in a modern office environment
• Equip students with the requisite skills to assume clerical and administrative roles
• Lay the foundation for career development and advancement in a business environment
• Develop knowledge and skills useful for specialised training for secondary, post-secondary studies, and future careers
• Foster disciplined and ethical behaviours within the work environment
• Develop effective document management capabilities
• Enhance the quality of life and foster personal growth and development

 

NOTE: As the study of EDPM provides a holistic approach to the acquisition of knowledge, the student’s decision-making and problem-solving skills will be greatly enhanced. The course places emphasises on computer applications related to the production, filing and retrieval of documents, skills that are crucial in today’s office environment. All competencies and skills developed by students in the preparation and management of electronic documents are thus interdisciplinary and imperative in the world of work or in the pursuit of further studies.
