The public is invited to view a number of exhibits on at the National Library of Trinidad and Tobago, Hart and Abercromby Streets, Port of Spain.
At the Heritage Library, 2nd Floor, you will find the “Lights of Divali” exhibit, showcasing the significance of the festival. Artefacts and books on the history and celebration of Divali are on display.
To mark Calypso History Month, October, 2003, the library has been playing videos of past calypso competitions; Literature on Calypso are also on display. You are also invited to listen to the library’s large repertoire of Calypso music.
Oliver Chapman’s Wildfire and Sparks photos are mounted at this library. Oliver Chapman, singer, songwriter presented the photographs to the NALIS recently for showing.
On the ground floor, in the rotunda, the Islamic Academy has mounted an exhibition to mark Ramadhan – “A Month of Blessings”. This exhibition is expected to continue until Eid-ul-Fitr.
Just concluded exhibition at the National Library included the “Women of the 90s” Photographic Collection, a display of the late Dr. J.D. Elder literature, the World Standards Day exhibit, and the 25th Anniversary of the installation of Pope John Paul II.
