At a time when recreational activities have been curtailed in response to the pandemic, the National Library and Information System Authority (Nalis) has increased its online offering of recreational reading materials, free to library card holders and available 24/7.

To meet the diverse needs and interests of patrons, NALIS has recently added Flipster, a digital magazine service from EBSCO to its online offerings via its website. This new service is designed to give users access to digital versions of popular magazines from their computers and mobile devices.

Using their library card number and PIN, users can occupy their time browsing and reading about business, family life, children, fitness, health, hobbies, lifestyles, sports and science and technology.  Among the popular titles available are Entrepreneur, PC World, Beanz, Brainspace, Track & Field, Bicycling, Creative Beading, Woodcraft, Better Homes and Garden, Boy’s Life, Girl’s World, Vogue, Essence, O - The Oprah Magazine, Men’s Health, Diabetic Living and ID: Ideas & Discovery.

NALIS’ subscription gives its members access to 35 of the most popular magazine titles, as they are updated (back dated issues can also be read). To access the service, individuals must be a registered member at NALIS without any overdue or lost books on his/her account. NALIS invites its members to access Flipster from anywhere, at any time via the link: www.nalis.gov.tt/Resources/Flipster.

NALIS is committed to providing a library and information services to facilitate the educational, cultural, social and creational needs of the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
