The Ministry of Education (MoE), Trinidad and Tobago Television (TTT) Limited and the National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) have partnered to ensure that educational content is provided to infant, primary and secondary school students during these unprecedented times.

Beginning September 15 and continuing twice weekly, lessons for various classes are being delivered by MoE Educators and recorded at Audio Visual Room, National Library by TTT for airing.  “The recording of lessons for students for airing on television is ideal, especially for those persons who do not have access to the internet” said Debbie Goodman, NALIS’ manager corporate communications.  “NALIS is extremely pleased to facilitate the recordings and provide support to teachers and students.” These lessons also reach some two hundred thousand students daily on various platforms.  So far, lessons have been recorded for Infant one to standard five and secondary school students. The subject areas already covered are drama, ICT, maths, social science and the visually and performing arts.

In addition to facilitating these recordings, NALIS has been assisting the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Division of the MoE by providing access to children’s literature for its series on Talk City 91.1FM. The authority is scheduled to deliver a series of webinars under the MoE’s Principals Leadership Webinar Series and the Teacher Supporting Teachers Mentorship Programme and will be creating storytelling content to be used at the infant, primary and secondary levels of the MoE.
