TEENAGER'S GUIDEBOOK DONATED TO NALIS

On September 21, Dr Elijah Fagorala donated two copies of his brand new book, “The Teenager’s Guidebook: Answers to the Most Common Questions Teenagers Ask” to the National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS).  Debbie Goodman, NALIS’ Manager, Corporate Communications accepted the books on behalf of the Authority.

The district medical officer revealed that he was prompted to write the book because of his growing children.  He said that this book is important as “teenagers need the support, guidance and encouragement of their parents more than ever, even if they do not show it.” Dr Fagorala also said that, ”people often ignore the complexities of this stage of a person’s life and parents and guardians often become frustrated which make them despair combatants rather than enlightened and understanding guides that teenagers expect them to be.”

The book addresses topics such as peer pressure; self-belief and self-worth; household chores; the importance of going to school; teenage pregnancy; healthy eating and many others pertinent to teenagers.  Fagorala said that he is currently working on a workbook and intends will conduct workshops.

The donated copies of Teenager’s Guidebook: Answers to the Most Common Questions Teenagers Ask, published by Cornerstone Publishing will be made available for public use at the National Library in Port of Spain.
