“Knowledge is important, it is never too late to join the library,” said Senator the Honourable Donna Cox, Minister of Communications after she received her new library card from the National Library and Information System Authority (Nalis) at the National Library in Port of Spain on July 13. Cox said that as a doctoral student she intends to use her card.
Cox joins the 270,000 plus Nalis library card holders in Trinidad and Tobago who can use the computers and borrow materials at any public library across the country. Additionally, using the library card’s number and pin, via the Nalis website, all registered users have free access e-Books, e-Resources, and can login to their library accounts, access account information, renew borrowed materials and place materials on hold.
With a variety of resources available: books, DVDs, audio books, Braille books, magazines, computers and free WI-FI at Nalis libraries, persons of all ages and abilities can utilise libraries for school projects, research, recreation or just to learn something new.
