The National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) will open its Debe Public Library on Tuesday March 12, 2002 at 10am. This new library, situated at Wellington Road, Debe will serve a population of approximately 10,000 persons from Barrackpore, Debe Town, Wellington Road, Beharry Trace and Penal.

The opening of this branch brings the number of public libraries in Trinidad and Tobago to twenty-four (24) and follows closely on the recent opening of the Cedros Public Library.
