NALIS LAUNCHES “RASTAFARI IN TRANSITION”

The media is invited to the National Library and Information System Authority’s (NALIS) launch of the book, “Rastafari In Transition” written by Dr. Ikael Tafari, and published by Research Associates School Times Publication/Frontline Books, Chicago and Miguel Lorne Publisher, Jamaica, on Friday 1, March, 2002 at the National Museum, Frederick Street, Port of Spain, starting at 6:30pm.

The book looks at the politics of cultural confrontation in Africa and the Caribbean 1966-1988, Vol. 1. Dr. Tafari will do a reading, plus give his thoughts on the current political situation from a social perspective. There will be a performance by Karega Mandela, Rapso artiste. The Feature Address will be done by Khafra Kambon.

The book was launch in Grenada and Barbados, and is available in book stores in the United States.

The Barbadian born author is now the Deputy Director of the Commission for Pan-African Affairs, Barbados.
