EMBASSY OF PANAMA CONTRIBUTES TO SPANISH LANGUAGE COLLECTION AT NATIONAL LIBRARY

On November 28, in commemoration of Panama’s National Day, Joyra Castillo, Second Secretary of Diplomatic and Consular Career, Chargé D' Affaires of the Embassy of Panama in Trinidad and Tobago presented 20 Spanish language books to the National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS).
Five copies of the book “Huellas De Un Ciudadano Del Planeta Tierra” by Jonny Cheeng (which addresses the issue of the environment) and 15 copies of the book “80 Articulos Sobre El Quehacer Cultural” by Mariela Sagel (which shares information about Panamanian culture) were received by Paula Greene, NALIS’ Executive Director (Ag.).  Greene said that NALIS is pleased to accept the books which will be added to its Spanish Collection, housed at the Adult Library, first floor, National Library Building in Port of Spain.

Second Secretary Castillo said that through the sharing of its literature, Panama wishes to provide insights into its plastic art and culture, as well as strengthen the relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and Panama.  Panama celebrates its independence from Spain on November28, 1821 and separation from Colombia on November3, 1903.
