Stuart Young, Minister in the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs and MP for Port of Spain/St Ann's West; Alderman Joel Martinez, Mayor of Port of Spain; Paul Keens Douglas Poet Laureate of Trinidad and Tobago; JJ and Friends; Marina Salandy Brown founder and director of the NGC Bocas Lit Fest and Sean Daniel, gospel artiste were among the celebrity storytellers at the National Library and Information System Authority’s (Nalis) Eleventh Annual Celebrity Tale-A-Thon held at the National Library on Saturday December 02.

In keeping with this year’s theme – “Celebrity Tale-A-Thon Christmas Story Edition” - celebrity storytellers read or told Christmas stories.  There were also performances by violinist Grace Douglas, singer, Charlene Ford, pannist Jaamal Pierre- Roberts and magician Kess the Illusionist.

NALIS’ Celebrity Tale-A-Thon is a grand storytelling event which brings together local celebrities who give of their time and talents. This highly anticipated event, which has grown exponentially over the years, seeks to impact learning and development through storytelling and story-reading aloud, promote the reading habit and love for literature as well as enhance comprehension, language and vocabulary skills.

The NALIS Eleventh Annual Celebrity Tale-A-Thon was sponsored by the National Library Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago (NGC), Optometrists Today, Republic Bank Limited and the Port of Spain City Corporation.  Product giveaways were provided by Holiday Snacks Limited, Bermudez Biscuit Company, Associated Brands Industries Limited (ABIL) and Carib Brewery (Smalta and Malta).
