The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in collaboration with the National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) mounted the exhibition, “The Chinese Medical Team in Trinidad and Tobago” at the Rotunda, National Library, Port of Spain from May 8- 13.
The exhibition which was officially launched on May 8 showcased images of the Chinese medical staff carrying out medical treatment in Trinidad and Tobago. It also displayed scenes demonstrating their communications skills and experience of the multi-cultural island.
The team of Chinese medical specialists arrived August 7, 2014 after Prime Minister, Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar, made an official visit to the People’s Republic of China. The cooperation between the both countries in the field of medicine aim to improve the delivery of health services in Trinidad and Tobago.
Speakers at the launch included Dr. the Honourable Fuad Khan, Minister of Health, His Excellency Huang Xingyuan, Ambassador of the Republic of China, Diane Simeon, Deputy Executive Director (Ag.) NALIS, and Dr Jia Wong (neurological specialists),Head of the Chinese Medical Team.
