CARNEGIE FREE LIBRARY CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS

The National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) wishes to advise the public that its Carnegie Free Library, located at Harris Promenade, San Fernando (Library Corner) has been temporarily closed for extensive restorative works to the library building.

All library services inclusive of lending and internet/computer access will be available from the Carnegie Reference Library, La Pique Plaza from February 18, 2015.The public can also access services at other public libraries or from NALIS’ online services at www.nalis.gov.tt. Library card holders can borrow eBooks by logging directly into http://ebooks.nalis.gov.tt.

The Carnegie Free Library was built in 1918 and officially opened to the public in March 1919.This library building is a landmark in San Fernando and over the years has been home to many educational and cultural activities for persons of all ages and abilities.
