SCHOLARSHIPS FOR NALIS EMPLOYEES

Thirty employees of the National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) have been awarded online distance learning scholarships to pursue studies in Library and Information Science at the postgraduate level at the University of Aberystwyth, Wales. The scholarships will cover the cost of tuition, books and travel to the university in Wales for Study School once a year.The programme’s duration is three years.

Congratulations to the 2014 scholarship awardees: Nicole Ramdass, Samantha Sookdeo, Milini Swanson, Jenna Benjamin, Leigh Shand, Kevon Cyrus, Ravi Balliram, Kandis Roberts, Adara Brathwaite, Alicia Ali Sookoo, Chandrawatie Sookram, Geeta Baboolal, Mala Bujuwan Ogeer, Sita Chaitoo, Natalie Fritz, Sue Ann Browne, Fareed Khan, Justin Maderia, Renee Heywood, Claudia Dickson- Jankee, Vernessa Reyes, Jewel Baptiste Richards, Suchitra Soodeen, Somatee Bootan, Mirissa Sequea, Danielle De Graff, Vidya Heeralal, Denyse Felmine, Sheldon Alleyne and Josephine De Freitas.

The granting of the scholarships is part of NALIS’ thrust to deliver professional information service to every citizen of Trinidad and Tobago. The library and information professional is the leader in the information movement and is a key component in the information-seeking/information providing chain.
