Gopalan Srinivasan, chairman-cum-managing director of The New India Assurance Co. Ltd, Mumbai, India recently presented a collection of management and insurance texts to the National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS).
The presentation marked the inauguration of The New India Assurance Building at 6A Stanmore Avenue, Port of Spain. The building was formally opened on January 23, 2013 by New India Assurance’s chairman and Senator the Honourable Larry Howai, Minister of Finance.
In handing over the books, Srinivasan said that New India Assurance has a long and successful history in Trinidad and Tobago, and from its establishment in 1946, the company has been playing a key role in Caribbean insurance by offering strong security backed by high levels of service. The company underwrites all classes of general insurance viz. Property, Engineering, Motor, General Accident and Marine.
Receiving the donation on behalf of Nalis were Lucia Phillip, executive director and Joan Osborne, deputy executive director. Phillip said that the collection will assist business students and researchers.
