NALIS EMPLOYEES TOLD: “KNOW YOUR NUMBERS”

Nalis’ employees are urged to know their numbers. This was the message delivered by the Lucia Phillip, executive director at the Authority’s first Employee Health Fair held recently at the Old fire Station, National Library, Port of Spain.

Speaking at the start of the day’s activities, Phillip reminded employees about the importance of maintaining healthy lifestyles and knowing their numbers – referring to their glucose, blood press and other important health related numbers which can indicate a person’s risk of developing certain diseases. She also reaffirmed Nalis’ dedication to the wellbeing of all staff.

The North West Regional Health Authority facilitated by providing blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, body mass index (BMI), HIV, prostate, eye and other tests. The Trinidad and Tobago Rehabilitation Foundation provided mental health testing.

The Embau Moheni, Minister of State in the Ministry of the Arts and Multiculturalism and Permanent Secretary, Jennifer Jones, in the same ministry attended the fair.

Nalis plans to host a series of Health Fairs for employees at other locations over the next two months, and continuing annually. The next fair will be held on May 18 at Arima Public Library.
