ARIMA AND MAYARO LIBRARIES JOINTLY CAPTURE EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE DELIVERY AWARD

Congratulations to the staff of the Arima and Mayaro Public Libraries who were joint recipients of the Ministry of Pubic Administration’s top award for Excellence in Service Delivery. Lucia Phillip, Executive Director; Diane Simeon, Director, Pubic Libraries Division; supervisors and staff of the respective libraries received the award at the gala function held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Wednesday 5 December 2012.

The judges were impressed by the quality of service offered by staff at these two libraries. They specifically looked at the level of customer care and the service environment. A total of seven outstanding government agencies were shortlisted for recognition and the top three received the inaugural Service Delivery Award.

In addition to the presentation of this award, fifty public officers who served the nation with distinction during the past 50 years were awarded for their outstanding contributions to public service. Among the recipients were Annette Wallace, former Executive Director, NALIS; Mr. Girdharry Seerattansingh, current Director of the Board of NALIS and former Director of the Board of NALIS, Mrs. Jeanne Roseman.

The Gala was the culmination of a series of celebratory activities hosted by the Ministry of Public Administration in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Trinidad and Tobago’s Independence.

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar delivered the Feature Address at the Gala.
