In recognition of the International Day of Older Persons, the Arima Public Library will host a Health Screening Day for persons 60 years and older at the library on Friday September 30, 2011, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 31 Pro Queen Street, Arima.
Referred as the Golden Members, this group can obtain glucose, blood pressure, vision and cholesterol testing which will be conducted by the Lions Club of Arima/Santa Rosa. The United Nations' (UN) International Day of Older Persons is celebrated annually on October 1 to recognise the contributions of older persons and to examine issues that affect their lives.
Also, targeted to secondary school students, the library will conduct a Financial Literacy Workshop on Wednesday September 28, 2011. This workshop will be facilitated by the Central Bank.
