“You can do anything you put your mind to” was the message NALIS gave to Secondary Entrance Examination (SEA) students of the Bethlehem Roman Catholic, the Laventille Boys and Girls Roman Catholic Schools, the Grand Chemin Roman Catholic and Anglican Schools at recently held pre SEA workshop entitled ‘Stress Free Examination Attitude’ hosted at the National Library and Moruga Public Library. The session at the National Library was facilitated by Clerine Burgess, Chief Consultant and lecturer at the UWI School of Continuing Studies while the session at the Moruga Public Library was facilitated by Tracey Rogers, Counsellor and Theatre In Education (TIE) practitioner. The sessions were held in an effort to ensure that children were emotionally prepared for the SEA.

Parents and guardians of students who attended the workshops were in high praises for the work of NALIS in motivating their children. One grandparent visited the National Library to personally express her gratitude to the Children’s Librarian, Kamella Carmino for organizing the workshop. She said that her grandson was declaring excitedly, “I am special”.
