I AM SPECIAL

As students all across Trinidad and Tobago prepared for SEA, NALIS donned yet another hat, to host a SEA workshop for students around Port of Spain and Moruga entitled “Stress-free Examination Attitude”.

For the session, NALIS selected Clerine Burgess, Chief Consultant of Brenbur Counselling Consultancy Ltd and lecturer at UWI School of Continuing Studies and Tracey Rogers, Counsellor and TIA Practitioner to share with girls and boys of Bethlehem RC and Laventille Government in the north and Grand Chemin RC and EC in the south respectively. Their message of belief in oneself and that “it matters not where you are from but what you believe” was quite clear.

Since then the library has received several praises with one special testimony coming from the grandmother of a student, who shared with POS Children’s Librarian, Kamella Carmino, that her grandson came home excitedly declaring “I am special”.

Included among those who attended were parents who appreciated NALIS’ effort to ensure that their children were emotionally prepared for the SEA.

The Port of Spain Children’s Library is open from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday and 8:30 am to 12 noon on Saturdays. The Moruga Public Library is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. For the hours of a library near you visit the NALIS website: http://library2.nalis.gov.tt/
