NALIS READING FOR THE GOAL COMPETITION WINNERS TO BE DRAWN

The draw and prize giving ceremony of the Reading For The Goal Competition will take place on Friday 9 June 2006, 10:00 a.m., at the Heritage Library, second floor, National Library of Trinidad and Tobago, Hart and Abercromby Streets, Port of Spain.

The Reading For The Goal Competition an initiative of the Port of Spain Children’s Library was held throughout the NALIS network of libraries during the period May 11 to May 29, 2006. This project was intended to encourage the reading habit as well as provide children with information on the 2006 World Cup campaign.

Children between the ages seven to twelve were encouraged to read the following:

  1. Information on the Soca Warriors mounted at the various libraries
  2. Information on any one of the World Cup 2006 Qualifiers, and or
  3. Information on the game – Football

An entry form was given to each child for each category successfully read. The more categories read, the greater the child’s chance of winning. The first prize is a football autographed by every member of the Soca Warriors Team. The autographed football was sponsored by the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF). Consolation prizes of caps, jerseys, key chains were won.
