AUTOMATED SYSTEM AT ST. JAMES

July 21st ended an era of 54 years of library service delivered from the St. James Public Library located at Western Main Road St. James.

On August 4th a new era began as the doors of a more modern, spacious facility opened to the public at 31 Church Street, St. James.

The move was effected in an effort to upgrade the services offered to the St. James community.

The new St. James Public Library services are fully automated employing the same system (Library Solutions system) now used at the National Library.

Registered members of the National Library Building (NLB) can also access material at the St. James Public Library using their NLB registration cards.

Staff at St. James is currently upgrading users’ records to the automated system.

Eighteen computers are available for Internet access.

The children’s and Youth Adult collections can be found upstairs and the Adult and Reference services downstairs.

ALTA will continue to hold its classes at this new location.
