Fist time author, Madeline Coopsammy, poet Keron Niles and aspiring author Premchand Nanda will be celebrated and featured at NALIS’ World Book and Copyright Day celebrations on April 15, 2005 at the Audio Visual Room, National Library at 6:00 p.m.
Featured first time author, Madeline Coopsammy, will launch her book Praire Journey at the evening’s proceeds. Professor Kenneth Ramchand and Nicholas Lue Sue will speak on issues relating to publishing and copyright.
UNESCO has designated of April 23 as World Book and Copyright Day which is celebrated worldwide. The aim is to recognize the importance of reading, publishing and the protection of intellectual property through copyright.
