DESPERS EXHIBITION ON AT NATIONAL LIBRARY

The WITCO Desperadoes and the National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) have mounted the exhibition “Desperadoes the Evolution” at the atrium, National Library of Trinidad and Tobago recently. The exhibition is a pictorial display of desperadoes throughout the years, its history, travels, achievements and founding members. The exhibition is open to the public until May 04, 2005, Mondays to Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Desperadoes was founded in the 1940s and has been the only band to win the National Panorama Competition on ten occasions.  The band has also excelled at the world music festivals held in Trinidad and Tobago having won the Festival on three consecutive occasions. Claimed the must widely traveled band, its members have traveled the Caribbean, Africia, United Kingdom and the United States of America performing at some of the most prestigious cultural centers.
