AMNESTY EXTENDED TO SEPTERMBER 30

The National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) wishes to advise that its amnesty has once again been extended to September 30, 2020.

Patrons are reminded to place overdue books/DVDs in book return bins provided.

All returns will be accommodated, Monday to Friday, between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm. Patrons are kindly asked not to bind books with rubber bands as this may cause damage to the items.

Returned items will remain in quarantine for a period of time and then thoroughly sanitised. This process will cause a delay in the updating of patrons’ accounts. NALIS apologises for any inconvenience caused by this precautionary measure.

TUNAPUNA PUBLIC LIBRARY TEMPORARILY CLOSED FROM JULY 29 to AUGUST 2

The National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) wishes to advise the public that its Tunapuna Public Library, located at Freeling Street, Tunapuna will be closed from July 29 to August 2, 2020 for maintenance works. NALIS apologises for any inconveniences caused. Persons are invited to utilise any other NALIS service points as well as its online resources at www.nalis.gov.tt.

MORUGA LIBRARY CLOSED ON JULY 2 DUE TO POWER OUTAGE

The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission has advised that on July 2, 2020, there will be no electricity in the Grand Chemin, Moruga area where the Moruga Public Library is located.  As such, the National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) wishes to inform the public that its Moruga Public Library, situated at Building No. 3 L’Anse Mitan Road will remain closed today. 

NALIS apologises for any inconvenience caused.  Library services will resume from July 3, 2020. Patrons are invited to visit any one of NALIS’ public libraries or access online services at www.nalis.gov.tt and follow the library on Facebook.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE NATIONAL LIBRARY BUILDING

The National Library Building (NLB), which houses NALIS’ Head Office, the Heritage Library, three public libraries as well as the Ministry of Public Administration will be closed from 1:00 pm, today (June 22, 2020) to effect maintenance works to a ruptured water line.

NALIS apologises for inconveniences caused. Persons wishing to return books can still utilise the Book Return Bins in the Abercromby Street, Arcade of the building. Heritage Library Services will resume from June 23, 2020.

NALIS announces the extension of its Amnesty to July 31, 2020.

 

Return of Overdue Items at National Library

Starting June 17, our patrons can place overdue books/DVDs in book return bins provided at the Abercromby Street, Arcade, National Library Building (NLB), Port of Spain.

 

Return of Overdue Items at Other Public Libraries

Starting June 22, overdue books/DVDs are to be placed in book return bins provided at other public libraries (with exception of the Carnegie Library in San Fernando and the St. Helena Public Library). 

All returns will be accommodated, Monday to Friday, between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm. Patrons are kindly asked not to bind books with rubber bands as this may cause damage to the items.

We look forward to seeing you from June 29 when our libraries will open to facilitate, until further notice, borrowing and computer only.
