NALIS TAKES PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES AGAINST COVID-19

As we at NALIS continue to provide walk-in library and information services, the following precautionary measures to protect our staff and patrons against COVID-19 have been taken:

  • Cleaning regimen has been stepped up;
  • Public interfacing programmes, especially those designed for seniors,mhave been suspended until the end of March 2020, in the first instance.

Persons are asked to also take their own precautionary measures. Restrict handshakes, hugging and close physical contact with persons who exhibit flu-like symptoms. Exercise standard hygiene practices: avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth; cover your coughs and sneezes, wash your hands regularly with soap and water and use an alcohol based hand sanitizer.

If you have symptoms, such as a cough, fever, acute diarrhoea, shortness of breath or body pains, please seek immediate medical help and avoid public spaces and gatherings.

Please note that NALIS will also continue to provide free online resources for reference and research and e-books via: www.nalis.gov.tt. You are invited to visit our website and follow us on Facebook and Twitter at @NALISTT for updates regarding COVID-19 and to learn about the resumption of your scheduled library programmes.
