Nicholas Simonette was born on 6 December 1925 to Leopold and Mary Simonette. He attended the Cedros Government School in his formative years. Mr. Simonette attended the Government Training College for Teachers and, upon his graduation, became an assistant teacher at the San Fernando boys R.C. School during the period of 1959-1961. Mr. Simonette became involved in politics, joining the People's National Movement in 1956. He was a member of the Senate until 1976 and the general secretary for the People's National Movement from 1962-1978.He was "Ambassador Plenipotentiary" to Venezuela in 1963 for a short mission in 1963. Mr. Simonette has now retired from politics.
