Lennox 'Bobby' Mohammed, is a well known and well loved musical son of South.
He had an early entry into steelband while still a learner at Presentation College in San Fernando. His father Hilton was a major motivating force and encouraged him to develop his talents.

After leaving Presentation, he was one of the founding members of Gondoliers steel band. The band later split in two and in 1961 Bobby went on to form the Cavaliers with 18 pannists.

A competition for full sponsorship between the Cavaliers and the Gondoliers saw Bobby and his boys emerge victorious. It was the first of many victories for the band.

In 1964 the Cavaliers walked away with the Southern Steelband Competition.
Also in that year, Bobby was selected as a member of TASPO to attend the MRA conference in the United States.

In 1965 he was again included in a team of pannists to attend the Commonwealth Art Festival in London not only as an arranger but as member of the Management Committee.

As the leader of Guiness Cavaliers he led the band to their first Panorama success in 1965. It was also the first victory for a south band in the national competition which started in 1963.
