Senator Dr. Jennifer Jones Kernahan was sworn in as Minister in the Ministry of Food Production and Marine Resources on June 13, 2001.

In this capacity, Dr Jones Kernahan assists the Minister of Food Production and Marine Resources in the performance of his duties.

Dr. Jones Kernahan was born on October 26, 1953. She attended the University of the West Indies where she obtained a BSc in Agriculture (1983). She also obtained a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (1966) from the Higher Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Havana Cuba.

Dr. Jones Kernahan worked as a Quality Control Manager at Supermix Feeds Trinidad Ltd before her appointment as Minister in the Ministry of Food Production and Marine Resources. She is a member of the Caribbean Medical Association, World Veterinary Association, Writers Union of Trinidad and Tobago.

Dr. Jones Kernahan is separated and is the mother of four children. She lists drama, poetry, visual arts and performing arts as her interests.
