Senator
the Honourable Ganace Ramdial
was re-elected as President
of the Senate on January 12, 2001. Mr. Ramdial was born in 1935, is married and
is the father of two children. He
is an Attorney-at-law having been called to the London Bar as a member of
the Inner Temple in 1963 and is a former President of the Institute of Banking
of Trinidad and Tobago. Mr Ramdial
served as Chairman of several Boards in both the public and private sectors
and has retired as Chairman and CEO of the First Citizen's Bank and Trust
Company.
Mr.
Ramdial served as President of the Senate previously from November 1995 to
the date he was re-elected as President of the Senate.

Ramdial enjoys reading, home gardening and walking.
