Dr.
Fuad Khan was sworn in as Minister
in the Ministry of Health on December 22, 2000.
In this capacity, Dr. Fuad Khan assists the Minister of Health in the
performance of his duties.
Dr. Khan was born on February 1, 1955 and is a medical doctor by profession. He obtained MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery) from the University of the West Indies in 1982 and a diploma in Urology from the Institute of Urology, London in 1992.
Dr. Khan is Chairman of the North Branch of Trinidad and Tobago Medical Association (1992-present), Chairman of Trinidad and Tobago Medical Association (1993-present) and Vice President of the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago (1994-2000). He is also a member of the Society of Surgeons (1992-present) and a member of Urological and Nephrologist Association (1994-present).
Dr. Khan has been a Member of Parliament for Barataria/San Juan since 1995. He served as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives for the period 1995-1996. He is a Karate Instructor, conducts group lectures to consultants and liases with foreign consultants.
Dr. Khan is married and has three children.
