NALIS’ public libraries across the country will host July/August vacation camps. Each camp will offer a variety of fun and engaging activities for children between seven and 12 years, and 13 and 17 years old. Activities will include creative writing, storytelling, arts and crafts, games, field trips, to name a few.
A number of participating public libraries will base their camp’s theme on the book, Green Days by the River, written by Michael Anthony. This year marks the fiftieth anniversary of the publication of the book. Additionally this book has been selected for NALIS’ One Book One Community nationwide reading project 2017.
Vacation camps will be conducted at the Arima, Carnegie, Chaguanas, Couva, Debe, Mayaro, Moruga, Point Fortin, Princes Town, Rio Claro, Sangre Grande, San Juan, Siparia, St. Helena, St. James, and Tunapuna Public Libraries. These camps are scheduled to begin from July 10 at South Region libraries with the St. Helena, Sangre Grande and Chaguanas public libraries scheduled to begin from July 17.
