CHILDREN'S LIBRARY CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH A MAGICAL STORY

In celebration of Trinidad and Tobago’s 54th anniversary of Independence and to promote the nation’s rich national heritage information, children as young as three years old were treated to readings from the magical story “The Adventures of Ana and Her Magic Dogs” at the Port-of-Spain Children’s Library on Aug. 24, 2016.

The colourful book, which was launched at the National Library in June, features national emblems and landmarks, and highlights national facts in an appealing and fast-moving tale geared toward 3- to 6-year-olds.

Expressive readings were done by radio and television personality Jason “JW” Williams and children’s author Verena Boodoosingh.

During the interactive session, about 50 children sat engaged and delighted. Many eagerly answered questions about the story, amidst shrieks of laughter and excitement.

The National Library and Information System Authority through its network of libraries and the Heritage Library Division is committed to acquiring, preserving and promoting information in all formats, on or about Trinidad and Tobago.
