ACTIVITIES AT SOME PUBLIC LIBRARIES

Please find following a list of activities taking place at some of the National Library and Information System Authority’s Public Libraries during the Easter Vacation period.

ARIMA PUBLIC LIBRARY
April

1. Readers are leaders. Story time featuring prominent leaders in the community. First session will be held
Date: Sat. 07.03.01
Time: 10.00 am – 11.00am
Storyteller: Ms. Patricia Zephyrine (Deputy Exc. Dir. NALIS)

2. Second session of Readers are Leaders will be held
Date: Sat. 21.03.01
Time: 10am – 11.am
Storyteller: Mr. Leroi Clarke (Prominent artist, author)

Children between the ages of 6 and above are invited to attend these exciting sessions.

3. Introduction to the Internet
Dates: 11th & 18th
Times: 9-10 & 11-12 (2 sessions per day)
Ages: 7-12
Register now at the library as limited places are available.

4. Displays - Easter, What’s On

5. “Let’s Learn the Internet continued”
Dates: 11th,18th & 19th
Time: 10 am – 11 am
Ages: 7 – 12

CHAGUANAS
April

1. Displays Easter, Job Vacancies

2. Easter Craft
Dates: 11th & 18th
Time: 10 am – 12 noon
Ages: 7 –12 yrs.
Children are asked to bring old greeting cards and Bristol board.

CARNEGIE FREE LIBRARY – SAN FERNANDO

1. Learn to make kites
Dates: Tuesday 17th April, 2001
Time: 10am – 11.30am
Facilitators: S. Deo & B. Joseph
Bring: 1 sheet kite paper, 1 reel thread, 2 cocoyea sticks

2. Who’s Afraid of a Mouse? Introduction to the Internet
Date: Wednesday 18th April, 2001
Time: 10am – 11:30am
Facilitators: Library Staff

Become familiar with the mouse and key board, and learn to surf the internet.

3. Storytelling and Film Show
Date: Friday 20th April
Time: 10am – 12 noon
Facilitator: Mrs. Joan Osbourne
Registration Fee: $2.00
