Resolutions for Public Libraries in the Caribbean
Be it
resolved that Public Libraries in the Caribbean:
- Conduct periodic
national surveys and interface with community agencies, in order to
determine the information and other service needs of the population.
- Maintain relevant
databases in order to facilitate reasoned analysis and preparation of
relevant reports.
- Establish a system
for monitoring, evaluating and adjusting services offered.
- Establish and maintain
advocacy programmes in all communities. These will take the form of
support groups, which will interpret the needs of libraries to funding
bodies.
