Suggested Resolutions for Public Libraries in the Caribbean

Be it resolved that Public Libraries in the Caribbean:

  1. Conduct periodic national surveys and interface with community agencies, in order to determine the information and other service needs of the population.

  2. Maintain relevant databases in order to facilitate reasoned analysis and preparation of relevant reports.

  3. Establish a system for monitoring, evaluating and adjusting services offered.

  4. Establish and maintain advocacy programmes in all communities. These will take the form of support groups, which will interpret the needs of libraries to funding bodies.
